| Partnerships for Success (PfS) is
an initiative of the Ohio Family & Children First Council along
with the Ohio Department of Youth Services. PfS supports and strengthens
local communities in their efforts to improve family and child well-being
outcomes most important to Putnam County.
Using the PfS approach, communities make better
program decisions and better investments of public funds. As a guide
or operating system, Partnerships for Success increases the efficiency
and effectiveness of services to families by:
1. Mobilize and Engaging the Community
2. Reducing the Duplication of Services
3. Making Decisions Based on Evidenced-Based Programming
4. Provide for Long Term Sustainability of Effective Programs
Results from county-wide needs assessment and data collection based
on the Partnerships for Success model indicated a significant need
to reduce the number of children/youths with harmful or threatening
behaviors in Putnam County. Using a strategy of strengthening and
expanding positive youth development programming, The Incredible
Years Parenting Series was identified as the best program of choice.
The Incredible Years Program Will
Teach…
• Helping a Child Learn Through Play
• Ways to Praise, Encourage & Reward Children
• How to Set Limits
• How to Handle Misbehavior
The Incredible Years Series is free and open to Putnam County residents
caring for children ages birth through 8 years old! For program
times and dates or more information, contact Shari Schmersal or
Amy Sealts at the Family & Children First Council.
